Stats and Progress

What do you do for a living?:
The morning show on KLAD FM and the General Manager of New Northwest Broadcasters.

Tell us about yourself (tell us about your family, your hobbies, interests, etc):
I have a wonderful wife, Jamie, who is joining me at the Recovery Zone once or twice a week for Water Aerobics. Two kids, my daughter Sami and son Cody. I have a dog named Roscoe and a cat that we call Rocky…our neighbors call it the “possessed cat”. I love to golf, bowl, duck hunt and am a huge fan of the Oregon Tech Hustlin’ Owls.

Tell us your fitness history (was there a time where you in shape? If so, what happened?? Were you always out of shape?):
About six years ago I decided I needed to lose weight and get in shape. I began to work out at the YMCA daily, started to watch what I ate and lost about 35 pounds. Then I took the job as the General Manager of the radio stations (New Northwest Broadcasters) and my free time to work out went away. I had played many hours of racquetball at the YMCA and prior to the Belly Buster the most exercise I was doing was walking to and from my pick-up. Since that day 3 years ago when I was promoted to GM, I have gained about 20 pounds.

What made you enter the Belly Buster?:
We wanted to do something similar to the “Biggest Loser” on NBC TV. Being the most overweight person on KLAD I got the nod…truly I want to get in shape again. I need to start somewhere and I knew this would get me motivated to make sure I do it.

What are your goals in the Belly Buster?
I want to get to around 12 % body fat and/or lose 25 pounds. Since I am working on machines I know that I will add muscle so I may not reach my goal weight but I will reach the percentage of body fat.

What do you think will be your biggest challenges in the Belly Buster??
Finding time to work out and avoiding sweets

What are your long term fitness goals, for when the Belly Buster is over??
To maintain what weight I have lost and hopefully continue to workout no matter how busy I get.
